HUD’s Call to Action on the Affordable Connectivity Program
Resources to Host an Affordable Connectivity Plan (ACP) Outreach Event in Your Community

Description:

The Affordable Connectivity Plan (ACP) is a benefit program from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) that provides a discount of up to $30 per month toward Internet service for eligible households and up to $75 per month for households on qualifying Tribal lands. Eligible households can also receive a one-time discount of up to $100 to purchase a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet if they contribute more than $10 and less than $50 towards the device. All HUD-assisted residents are eligible for this program.

To date, HUD has helped host 45 ACP enrollment events across the country in 2023. PHAs, HUD-subsidized Multifamily owners, or Tribally Designated Housing Entities that host an ACP outreach event within 3 weeks of the ConnectHomeUSA Summit will be highlighted on the ConnectHomeUSA Website. You can commit to conducting an outreach event here. Below are a few resources that you can use to help with hosting an ACP outreach event in your community. These resources provide information on best practices for hosting an event, free resources and flyers to advertise the event, and a press release template that you can use to promote the event, among other resources.
