Initial 2020 PIH EIV System Training (Air Date: August 26, 2020)
Description: This training provides Public Housing Agencies (PHAs) with a comprehensive understanding of the Enterprise Income Verification (EIV) system and how to use EIV to streamline the income verification process and reduce administrative errors and improper payments within HUD rental housing assistance programs. This training also provides guidance for effective use of the various EIV system functions to reduce improper payments within the Public Housing and Housing Choice Voucher programs; and how to address and effectively correct program deficiencies to ensure limited federal dollars serve as many eligible families as possible in the PHA’s community. All new EIV system users are required to complete this training prior to obtaining access to the EIV system.
Target Audience: Program administrators, including PHA-hired management agents and consultants that administer the Public Housing, Housing Choice Voucher, and/or Section 8 programs under the jurisdiction of HUD’s Office of Public and Indian Housing (PIH); and HUD PIH staff and Office of Inspector General (OIG) staff.
