Overview

HUD’s Office of Field Policy and Management is committed to supporting new Americans such as refugees and other newcomer populations find safe, permanent, and affordable housing by providing access to housing counseling and sharing important resources regarding HUD programs and services. Assisting these communities is essential to realizing HUD’s mission of creating “strong, sustainable, inclusive communities and quality affordable homes for all.”

Together with the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Population, Refugee and Migration (PRM) and the U.S. Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), HUD is working is to lead resettlement and integration efforts in close coordination with over 200 resettlement organizations and non-governmental organizations. A Memorandum of Understanding was created between HUD’s Office of Field Policy and Management and HHS ORR and signed by FPM’s Assistant Deputy Secretary Michele Perez and ORR Director Robin Dunn Marcos on August 7, 2023 to commemorate this commitment.
