On September 20, 2023, HUD announced the award of $60 million to 16 communities under the Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program (YHDP). This award announcement represents the sixth fiscal year of funding for YHDP; previous awards under YHDP can be viewed here.

All new YHDP project applications must be submitted in esnaps by July 1, 2024 with one exception. On June 20, 2024, President Biden issued a Major Disaster Declaration for areas in New Mexico affected by the New Mexico South Fork and Salt Fires. Based on the authority in section IV.B.3 of the FY2022 YHDP NOFO, HUD is extending the project application due date for applicants in these areas. Applications from organizations with primary operations in these areas must submit their YHDP new project applications in esnaps by August 1, 2024.
