SEC-549 -- DEFINITIONS OF PARTICIPATING JURISDICTION AND DRUG-RELATED 

 
CRIMINAL ACTIVITY.
 
 Section 8(f) of the United States Housing Act of 1937 (42 U.S.C.
1437f(f)) is amended-
 
 (1) by striking "and" at the end of paragraph (2);
 
 (2) by striking the period at the end of paragraph (3) and inserting
a semicolon; and
 
 (3) by adding at the end the following new paragraphs:
 
 "(4) the term `participating jurisdiction' means a State or unit of
general local government designated by the Secretary to be a
participating jurisdiction under title II of the Cranston-Gonzalez
National Affordable Housing Act; and
 
 "(5) the term `drug-related criminal activity' means the illegal
manufacture, sale, distribution, use, or possession with intent to
manufacture, sell, distribute, or use, of a controlled substance (as
defined in section 102 of the Controlled Substances Act (21 U.S.C.
802)).".
