SUBJECT: Permanent Foundations Guide for Manufactured Housing
 
     This Mortgagee Letter will confirm that the Permanent
Foundations Guide for Manufactured Housing published in September
1996, replaces HUD Handbook 4930.3 , August, 1989, Permanent
Foundations Guide for Manufactured Housing.
 
     This publication is a guide for those approving manufactured
homes on permanent foundations under Title II of the 203(b) Home
Mortgage Insurance Program.  It may be obtained in hard copy or
software versions by contacting HUD User at 1-800-245-2691. (See
attachment).
 
     If you have questions concerning this letter, please contact
your local HUD office.
