Mortgagee Letter 87-36
      TO:   ALL APPROVED MORTGAGEES
      SUBJECT:  Homeowner's Fact Sheet-
                  One-time Mortgage Insurance Premium (MIP) Refunds
                  and Distributive Shares
 
            In order to assist the Department of Housing and Urban
      Development (HUD) in expediting refund processing on cases
      where mortgagors are due monies through distributive shares and
      one-time mortgage insurance premiums, mortgagees are requested
      to include on the Homeowner's Fact Sheet the following
      information:
 
         1.   FHA Case Number
 
         2.   Mortgagee's Name and Loan Number.
 
         3.   The date the Form HUD-2344, Lenders' Request for
              Termination of Home Mortgage Insurance was submitted to
              HUD (This information should not be included on the
              Homeowner's Fact Sheet at the time of loan
              origination).
 
              The Homeowner's Fact Sheet must be transmitted to
      mortgagors both at the time of loan origination and at the
      time of insurance termination.
 
              If you have any questions concerning this letter,
      please contact the Single Family Loan Management Branch in
      the local HUD office which has jurisdiction over the
      property.
