HUD’s Build America, Buy America (BABA) Virtual Outreach Event for Grantees

HUD invites recipients of Federal financial assistance from HUD to join us for a Virtual Education Outreach event on the requirements of the Build America, Buy America (BABA) Act. This informational session will take place on November 9th, 2023 from 12PM – 2PM EST via webcast.

Please register here to receive an invitation to join the webcast.

BABA was enacted on November 15, 2021, as part of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. In general, BABA established a rule that requires that all iron, steel, manufactured products, and construction materials used in an infrastructure project with any Federal financial assistance must have been produced in the United States.

This informational session is intended to provide participants with guidance on compliance with BABA regulations, share valuable BABA resources, facilitate discussions, and address any questions or concerns you may have. Representatives from several HUD offices will be in attendance including Public and Indian Housing, Office of Community Planning and Development, and Office of Lead Hazard Control and Healthy Homes.

To that end, we invite attendees to submit any questions or topics of interest in advance of the session. Questions can be submitted to the general mailbox buildamericabuyamerica@hud.gov.

We invite HUD grantees to review the BABA or email your HUD program point of contact for more information. We look forward to a productive session.
