Budget Analysts are essential in performing a variety of budget analysis functions in assigned areas. Work may be performed in any segment of the normal range of budget administration work performed by the organization including budget formulation, budget presentation-enactment, or budget execution. Budget Analysts assist in the preparation of budget estimates and justifications, interpret OMB directives and circulars, and provide information and advice to program managers. Budget Analysts are responsible for reviewing and editing program office and office budget submissions for reasonableness, accuracy, and conformance with procedures and guidelines; negotiating budget funding amounts, timing, and changes with program managers; monitoring budget; and recommending reprogramming of funds as needed. | |
Community Planning Development (CPD) Representatives are vital HUD liaisons, fostering strong relationships with communities, non-profit grantees, and government partners. They empower grantees by expertly balancing compliance oversight with proactive support and guidance on HUD programs and resources. As a CPD Representative, you'll provide consultative expertise, conduct research, and offer insightful recommendations to communities, colleagues, and management, driving improvements in policy, resource allocation, and procedures, ultimately advancing HUD's mission. | |
Community Planning Development (CPD) Specialists are essential in performing a variety of assignments to compliment the development of analytical and communication skills to support the Office of Community Planning and Development’s (CPD) leadership. CPD Specialists act as liaisons and handle communication with communities and grantees and read and interpret federal and program regulations/requirements and provide technical assistance on those requirements to grantees receiving HUD funds. | |
Financial Analysts perform financial analyses and evaluation and are responsible for planning, organizing and independently completing duties on assignments concerning CPD program regulations and Uniform Administrative Requirements at 2 CFR 200. The position routinely provides technical assistance to partners inside and outside of HUD, including working with states, local communities, and non-profit organizations to maximize the impact of their program funding to provide affordable housing, expanded economic opportunity and other benefits to low- and moderate-income residents. | |
Grants Management Specialists play a crucial role in assisting the field office with managing the HOME-ARP grant. They leverage the Office of Affordable Housing Programs’ policy expertise and knowledge in interpreting statutory and regulatory requirements to help PJs comply with the HOME-ARP Implementation Notice (the “HOME-ARP Notice”). Additionally, they provide information, advice, and technical assistance to assigned field office staff and PJ staff on HOME-ARP and HOME matters as needed. | |
Special Needs Assistance Specialists develop policy recommendations for HUD’s Special Needs Assistance Programs and Special Initiatives which addresses the homelessness population. Participates in the national homelessness competitions applying selection criteria to applications and ensuring applications meet all applicable requirements. |
