What is SAM?
The System for Award Management (SAM) is combining federal procurement systems and the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance into one new system. This consolidation is being done in phases. The first phase of SAM includes the functionality from the following systems:
- Central Contractor Registry (CCR)
- Federal Agency Registration (Fedreg)
- Online Representations and Certifications Application
- Excluded Parties List System (EPLS)
How will SAM benefit me?
The overarching benefits of SAM include streamlined and integrated processes, elimination of data redundancies, and reduced costs while providing improved capability.

SAM Webinar - Registration Available
GSA is working hard to improve the user experience in the System for Award Management (SAM). To help both new and existing users, they will be hosting a series of instructional webinars in the next few months. The first webinar will take place February 26 (registration info below) and will be focused toward users who were previously registered in Central Contractor Registration (CCR). Subsequent webinars will be hosted for government employees, grantees and other users of SAM, and we will share those details when they are available.
As we receive information on future webinars, we will provide it to you. Additionally, you may check www.sam.gov and www.gsa.gov for future dates, as they become available.
