In Case You Missed It: Secretary Fudge and President McCargo Ring the Bell at the New York Stock Exchange

WASHINGTON - On Friday, July 28, 2023, HUD Secretary Marcia L. Fudge and Ginnie Mae President Alanna McCargo rung the bell at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) to celebrate the achievements of Housing Week and acknowledge the significant contributions of Ginnie Mae over the past 55 years.

While on Wall Street, Secretary Fudge and President McCargo spoke to NYSE’s “Floor Talk” to display HUD’s efforts to support affordable housing and recognize Ginnie Mae's lasting impact on the housing sector. The leaders spoke on HUD’s work to increase housing supply, make homeownership more accessible, and protect tenants, among other priorities.

“If you’re a child, you do better in school when you know where you’re going to sleep at night. If you’re a senior citizen, you live a healthier life if you know that you can go home at night,” Secretary Fudge says in the interview. "If you're a family, the stability of a secure home fosters stronger bonds and a brighter future. Housing is one of the most critical things we can ever even discuss.”
