Build for the Future Resources
The $1.2 Trillion Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) and the $500 Billion Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) are historic investments in our nation's transition to low emission buildings and climate-resilient communities.
To help understand the investments, opportunities, tools, and trainings available from HUD and other federal agencies, HUD has created the following resources:
- The HUD Exchange Build for the Future page, a curated library of resources and tools on efficient building, renewable energy integration, climate resiliency and environmental justice;
- An interactive Funding Navigator tool that allows the user to browse and sort funding opportunities, helping HUD program participants maximize the utilization of IRA and BIL resources for carbon reduction and climate resilience efforts;
- A Climate Resources for Housing Supply Framework discussing how climate-related investments can support the development of housing, particularly affordable housing; and
- A Series of Build for the Future Guides to provide more information about the topics and opportunities featured on the Funding Navigator including energy efficiency, benchmarking, climate resilience, and more.
These unique, cross-agency, resources can help guide every step of your community’s climate resiliency, sustainability, and decarbonization journey.
