Purpose
The Lead-Based Paint Hazard Control Grant Program and Lead Hazard
Reduction Demonstration Grant Programs assist states, Native American
Tribes, cities, counties/parishes, or other units of local government
in undertaking comprehensive programs to identify and control lead-based
paint hazards in eligible privately owned rental or owner-occupied
housing.
Type of Assistance
Funds made available under this program are awarded competitively
on an annual basis through a selection process conducted by HUD.
Available Funds
Approximately $69 million is available for the Lead-Based Paint
Hazard Control Grant Program and $48 million is available for the
Lead Hazard Reduction Demonstration Grant Program.
Eligible Applicants
To be eligible to apply for funding under the Lead-Based Paint
Hazard Control (LBPHC) Grant Program or the Lead Hazard Reduction
Demonstration (LHRD) Grant Program, you, the applicant, must be

of local government. Multiple units of a local government (or multiple
