Predatory lending is a term used to describe a wide range of unfair financial practices. Here are some resources that can help you avoid being a victim.
 -   The Kentucky Homeownership Protection Center - provides a centralized location for information on public services to assist Kentuckians in keeping their homes. Homeowners can find information on the foreclosure process, utility assistance and home repair assistance to make smart choices and avoid losing their homes.  For more information, call toll-free (866) 830-7868.
 -   Housing Counseling
 -   Contact the Kentucky Attorney General's Office - if you feel you may have been a victim of unfair lending practices at (502) 696-5300
 -   Better Business Bureau - collects data on illegal and unethical lenders and acts as a clearinghouse for consumer information
 -   The State Department of Financial Institutions - regulates the financial services industry
 -   Legal Aid Network of Kentucky - offers referrals to legal service offices throughout Kentucky that assist low-income, elderly, and disabled persons
